Monthly subscription
« on: March 02, 2015, 04:25:06 PM »
Why have avast no monthly subscription option? I can't afford to buy a whole year at once, but I could easily split that money into 12 and pay once every month. The subscription could be an optional way of payment, so if someone buys a year, uses 3 months and then cancels the subscription, then his next bill would be the rest of the money he owes avast.

EDIT: I seems to be the only one that wants this option...

That's one of the reasons why there is a free version... if you can't afford payment, though a years subscription is very minimal imo.

Sadly the free version is missing the most critical feature of all, the firewall. I know windows have it's own built in one, but I have never liked that one.

You could add the windows firewall control program to make it more easily accessible or there are several free firewalls available on the market.

This is not about finding me a firewall.

The problem is, if avast were to include the firewall in the free version, what incentive is there for people to upgrade to the avast product that has the firewall.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

When I just checked now AIS is only $39AUD, that's pretty cheap and a monthly subscription on that would cost more in processing fees so I can see why a monthly option isn't offered.

But I never said they should put a firewall into the free version

That is certainly the implication I got from your previous post.

Mistaken or otherwise, the conclusion I drew was that you wanted that missing firewall.

That is what I got out of it. I just purchased a two year subscription for $59.00 that amounts to $29.XX per year. A great deal considering KIS's price and the fact that AIS is a far superior product. I found that out the hard way..
