My guess is an automatic windows update?

Considering it is a windows update KB according to the file name and origin, then depends on what your WU settings are to download and install WU or download and wait for update confirmation.

Why would that Windows KB Update not be signed though?

Strange, I also forgot that it was patch Tuesday.
I never received a warning from Avast. ???
When I wanted to turn off the computer, I noticed that the system required a re-boot due to updates.

I can't answer that, you would have to ask MS and I rather doubt you would get a direct answer.

For sure they have done it before windows update KBs without digital signatures. Seen some previously in the forums.

Relevance to DeepScreen settings; maybe that was what triggered it?

(Off Topic:) Use Alt+PrintScrn to capture only the avast window or any other window in the future.  Highlight the window with your mouse by clicking it, and then use Alt+PrintScrn to copy the image.   Paste image in Paint and save to desktop.  You can either delete it or save to Pictures later after attaching it to your new post.

Ctrl+PrintScrn always captures the entire desktop.

I know how crop using photo gallery but I was too sick yesterday to do that.
