Clear all from programs list
« on: April 30, 2015, 06:09:31 AM »
I want to start over from scratch. Is there an option to clear all the programs at once so it can re-learn and start from Default settings? Or should I Uninstall / Re-install the whole program. It would be kinda nice if when I rebooted all the latest Def. where in place.

What avast version are you using, Free/Pro/AIS/Premier ?

In the context of "clear all the programs at once so it can re-learn" I think of firewalls rather than AVs ?

OK, whilst I don't use AIS and the avast firewall, if you open the firewall settings avastUI > Settings > Tools > Firewall have a little rummage round in there to see if you can find anything obvious.

If not on the top right of that window there should be a ? that gives access to a context sensitive help function.

You might also want to check out this FAQ article https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB25#artTitle this talks about applications rules that I think is close to what you were asking for - e.g. if you remove the application rules they would have to be recreated/relearned.

The thing is, It has an option to reset back to default settings, but I am not really sure if it has reset every single application. I have far too many programs to be 100% on it. I reset it once but some programs I seen that I had changed to allow all were still set to allow all and that is not the default setting for those.
So I guess I have to remove all the programs set manually one by one and then reset Avast to default.(this idea sucks) or maybe I should just uninstall / reinstall but I know thats not as ez as it sounds. My dilemma

(See attached pics below)

The ability is there to completely remove a firewall group at once.  Right-click the group you wish to remove and choose Delete.

Old removed programs will have their firewall rules still in place unless you use the Check Paths option to remove all.

An additional feature avast firewall has the ability for you to see when a new firewall rule is created via a pop-up notification.
Windows 11 Home 23H2
Windows 11 Pro 23H2
Avast Premier Security version 24.8.6127 (build 24.8.9372.868)
UI version 1.0.814
