Windows 8.1 freeze at restart after installing avast internet security

I have been experiencing system freeze after I install avast internet security on my laptop, it cant restart but can sometimes shutdown! After uninstalling the avast product now my hp envy m6-k-025dx is back without problem, I can now shutdown and restart my system. any help please. tnx in advance

what AV did you use before installing avast?
did you uninstall it before installing avast?

hp computers usually come with preinstalled Norton .....

Just to add, Both my HP laptops came with McAfee preinstalled;)

And if it is/was McAfee, we know it could mean "trouble" and we should ask Essexboy to help the OP.

It came with norton internet security. .. I have uninstall it after installing the avast..  so could that be caused the conflict? So what do you suggest thanks
