I'm not sure if this is malware but, i get an error saying:

'The Windows Security Center service can't be started.'

The main reason I'm asking is because of how good the response was when i used these forums last time.

Thanks a lot,
Lee Mitchell

Scan with ZOEK

Please download ZOEK by Smeenk and save it to your desktop (preferred version is the *.exe one)
Temporary disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware protection - instructions here.

  • Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  • Wait patiently until the main console will appear, it may take a minute or two.
  • In the main box please paste in the following script:
Code: [Select]
createsrpoint;
autoclean;
emptyalltemp;
ipconfig /flushdns;b
  • Make sure that Scan All Users option is checked.
  • Push Run Script and wait patiently. The scan may take a couple of minutes.
  • When the scan completes, a zoek-results logfile should open in notepad.
  • If a reboot is needed, it will be opened after it. You may also find it at your main drive (usually C:\ drive)
Post its content into your next reply.

Fix with ESET Services Repair

Please download Services Repair by ESET and save it to your desktop.

  • Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  • If security notifications appear, click Continue or Run.
  • Accept the prompt about restoring services.
  • Once the tool has finished, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Click Yes to restart.
  • A log will be saved in the CCSupport folder the tool created on your desktop.

Please include that logfile in your next reply.

We need to run one more Zoek fix:

Fix with ZOEK

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.
Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Temporary disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware protection - instructions here.

  • Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  • Wait patiently until the main console will appear, it may take a minute or two.
  • In the main box please paste in the following script:
Code: [Select]
createsrpoint;
chrdefaults;

  • Watching (over?) you
    • Malware removal, Biljart and other things.
In Security Centre's Properties in Services there is a Dependency tab.
Make sure each service on that tab is started.

Also:
go to start ->services.msc->check that  these services 'Remote Procedure Call (RPC)' and 'Windows Management Instrumentation' are set to automatic and start them then start "security center service"

Done that but now I have a new error. It says Error 1079. The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running the same service.
