ashShell.dll Causing Program to Crash
« on: June 15, 2015, 06:39:29 AM »
Hello,

Wondering if anyone else is running into this problem. I am running a game (TacOps 4), which crashes when I try to load a module. The game brings up the windows file explorer so that I can select the map, thinks for a second, then crashes. I checked out the event log in windows event viewer, and it says:

Quote
Faulting application path: C:\TacOps v4 Demo\TacOps4demo.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\ashShell.dll

I have added the program path to the exceptions list, and I have even temporarily disabled Avast and run the program. Oddly, the event log is identical whether or not the shields are up...I've also changed the compatibility settings and allowed the .exe to run as admin....

Any ideas???

P.S. -- Windows 8.1 with latest Avast Free, both are up-to-date
