I think on-line scanning by your ISP won't conflict with avast!
Which application they use to scan mail?

I use Optimum Online web mail provider.
If you access your email on-line using your browser, then the avast Internet Mail provider doesn't scan that content. Or is it a pop3 email service that you use an email program to download your email to your inbox?

That content would be scanned by the Web Shield provider as you browse your email on-line. If you download it to your HDD to save it, Standard Shield could also scan it depending on the settings.

However, your Optimum Online provider would have scanned it when it came into the mail server prior to your viewing it, so it shouldn't cause any conflict.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I got my ISP user guide and it said it works with Symantec to scan inbound and outbound mails. Maybe it wont confilct with Avast.

No they won't conflict as avast is in your computer and NAV in their server.
