You actually received a version that runs equally well on both 32 and 64 bit computer. :)

avast! installer already contains 32bit and 64bit binaries. Installer detects what OS you afre using and installs the required files. In the end, it doesn't really matter what you're using, avast! will make a decision instead of you and install the correct files. And yes, avast! is 64bit. Otherwise it wouldn't work on 64bit operating systems and it clearly is working on those. So yeah, it is 64bit.

No, avast is not 64 bit.
It works on a 64 bit system, but that doesn't mean it is 64 bit.

Even really old applications I created and compiled in 386 are working on a 64 bit OS/system.
Would be really weird if they now suddenly where 64 bit.

Sorry to correct you Eddy. Here's a screenshot of just some of the files for a 64 bit OS:

Hm this question came up to me too today then i was looking for avast activity after machine as restarted. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1609451945994104&set=a.1387827344823233.1073741828.100007879421501&type=1&theater we can see avast runs 32bit avast antivirus but my machines is win 8.1 64bit. Is it normal? Avast is installed on 64bit folder.

Essentially it is the same a RejZoR stated, avast also has 64bit binaries which will be installed when it detects a 64bit OS.

Whilst there are 32bit elements still present they can run on a 64bit OS. Just because you have a 64bit OS doesn't mean you have to have programs that are exclusively 64bit.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.4.6112 (build 24.4.9067.762) UI 1.0.803/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security
