Ok so I downloaded the update, however, it doesnt work and the window installer says "The update is not applicable to your computer"

For some reason, it still wont work. I get "Windows Update standalone installer error: 0x8007000d. The data is invalid"

No, I followed the instructions and did this: "KB2919442 is a prerequisite for Windows 8.1 Update and should be installed before attempting to install KB2919355" But when I run it, its says" Update not applicable to your computer"

There is something severely amiss with your system... I would recommend that you reinstall windows (after backing your data) and then install 8.1

Ok. Would it be okay to back up stuff like ipod songs, pictures, files, etc onto a flash drive. I don't have like a external hard drive, plus I only really don't want to lose the 1700 songs on my ipod.
