May have some malware :(
« on: July 12, 2015, 09:22:34 PM »
Hello guys. My computer has not been working properly. The internet browser freezes and says "not responding". Also, anytime I play a video it keeps on buffering. In addition, I get like threat updates everynow and then

I don't think the computer has randomly shut down today. Were you able to find out what the problem was? Also, is there any other software I can run or do something to clean out the computer or get rid out potential malware? Or anything in general to get the laptop to run as smooth as possible.

Thank you very much for your help.

For instance, when I try to watch videos off some website it keeps on loading/lagging. Also, sometimes a website will keep on loading and loading. And the browers sometimes randomly says "not responding" .  Quick question - Im thinking maybe I should restart the whole system. But I was wondering what would happen to the songs on my ipod. Would it be possible to transfer songs from the ipod to the new itunes? Thank you

Initially I would update windows to 8.1, that may resolve some of the problems

Ok. Also, my laptop shuts down on its own and when I turn it back on it says "There was a problem so the computer had to shut down" Would the update help that?

When I try to update to Windows 8.1, I get this message: "windows is getting your 8.1 upgrade ready you will automatically be prompted to install windows 8.1 soon".

Thank you. The direct link gave me some options to choose from. I chose this one: Windows 8.1 Update (KB2919355). Is that correct?
