Before going any further, especially before installing anti-spyware products there are many rogues out there and this would appear to be one of them, check out this link and look for ScanSpyware: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm.
Hi David, Yes I have checked this out. Thanks for that. I have in fact removed all the logs mentioned above
except :[MyDoom]
C:\cpqdrv\Logitech\Autorun.exe Because I am having trouble with my mouse without making matters worse, does this entry not relate to my mouse?
? What would you advise re this entry.
Casino on Net was a funny one. I had already un-installed it from Add/Remove programs but this obviously wasn,t enough.
Just a little note, if you can remove the large amounts of white space (blank lines, enter key, etc.) at the bottom of your posts, it makes the thread much longer. I'm wearing out my scroll wheel and mouse
I am very sorry about the White spaces
. I will try and sort that out.
I have tried absolutely everything suggested David, regarding this ongoing problem with the updates in version 4.6.731. I will just have to update my computer when I am about to come out of it until the solution can be found. It freezes at this point anyway as you know.
My computer however must be as clean as it has ever been.
Would the Zone Alarm settings have anything to do with it regarding what is allowed and what has to be asked for. i.e Do I have to allow server permissions for Avast as a default? I haven't done this before mind but again worth a try if you think it might make any difference.
