Avast and K9 filter conflict? Is this issue resolved yet?

I followed the instructions on K9's website to get the two software to work together http://www1.k9webprotection.com/support/kb/K9173.html

But even with Avast Web Shield turned off, I still got a bluescreen. I even turned off Web shield and Avast Firewall and still got a bluescreen! Will this conflit ever be resolved? I have used Avast and K9 for maybe two years and haven't had this problem until about one month ago.
