Remote Assistance server issue
« on: June 16, 2015, 02:35:58 PM »
Hello, Just recently we started having issues with avast connecting to host: rh.ara.avast.com. We are unable to use the remote assistance feature, also, we had a user that had two viruses on her machine and we were unable to quarantine them because of the same issue. We have tried rebooted, and reinstalling the client.

Pop-up received while trying to Allow Remote Control
"Connecting to host: rh.ara.avast.com
A local error occured: Unable to connect to the
Remote Assistance server!
Session has been terminated with an error."

from C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\aralog.log

I appear to be having the exact same problem. The very odd thing I found is that a computer on our network that had an expired license was able to connect to the server but as soon as I updated its license it lost the ability to connect.

I was really hoping to be able to use this feature to work on computers in our remote office with out having to purchase other tools or drive 4 hours.
