Virus; Jttp:// wpad.browserupdatecheck.in........
« on: August 21, 2015, 09:00:24 PM »
I have this issue as well, Avast pops up every few seconds with a message, 'malware blocked'. I also upgraded to Win 10 in the meantime, no change. The process is usually windows.Sustem32.svchst but has been several others as well.

Thanks!!
Jim

First one of these on windows 10

Could you start FRST and in the search box copy/paste the following :

browserupdatecheck.in;wpad

Then press search registry
Once done a report will be produced please post that

Right click the following link and select save target as... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/tcpip.reg
Save this to your desktop
Double click tcpip.reg and allow to merge
Accept the warnings and reboot

Have the alerts now ceased

I might note, however, that the process is now chrome.exe
Thanks,
Jim

Ahhhh. Rebooting. Sometimes overlook the obvious. Realized right after that last reply, and rebooted.
So far so good. I'll let you know how it goes, and once again, thanks so much!!
