Infection Blocked Popup
« on: August 22, 2015, 06:59:26 PM »
I periodically get five "Infection Blocked" Popups from Avast while using Safari on my mac.

It's always to some kind of survey sites (sites I never visited):
Chosurvey
Statsurvey
Mansurvey

The process is always System/Library/Framework/webkit.framework/XPCservice/webkit.WebContent

I ran both a full scan from Avast and I ran Malwarebytes.
Avast found a couple things that I deleted and Malware found one thing that I deleted but these pop-ups keep happening.

Now Malware Bytes and Avast do not find anything and I still get five pops ups every now and then.

I'm guessing some program is trying to reach out to these websites but I no idea how to find which program is doing it.

Is there any way to figure this out?

Thanks in advance.

I'm no longer an active user of these forums as I now use Sophos.

But I just stumble here from time to time as there aren't many Real Mac experts around this forum. And I see this issue appear in one form or the other, in the past I've answer this many times.

The problem is one of your BROWSER EXTENSIONS, deactivate all and turn one by one until you find the culprit.

And somebody write a FAQ somewhere or a sticky post or whatever, this has to be the most recurring issue here!
