Wrong trojan identification!!!
« on: November 24, 2005, 06:04:44 PM »
Hi,

We are a software company and since 3 hours ago (probably because of your last definition update) some dll's and exe's on 2 of our client brands where detected as Trojan's.

Our software is absolutely clean and we have a very strict policy in regards to spyware.
This detection disables the software from operating and this needs to be fixed ASAP.

Avast Support - please contact me as soon as possible.
Thanks!
Doron

I'm only an avast user ho attempts to help other avast user in these forums.

What would help them no end would be the name of the trojan detection and the program, files that are being detected incorrectly.

You could also try a search of the forums for either the trojan or the files affected and see if it hasn't already been reported and importantly corrected.

As DavidR said, you really didn't supply much information.
What was the exact name of the trojan detected, what were the full filenames (and if possible, what was the version of the installed virus database)?

Why did you logoff...? If you stay, you'll have the answer, at least, the workaround.

For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the 'a' blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button...

For the other providers (on-demmand scanning):
Right click the 'a' blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button...

Until these false positives could be corrected in a new VPS update...
