You can use the  Media Creation Tool and burn a DVD or USB drive and install a fresh version of Windows 10.
More information at:

Well that sure worked!  :D

Thank you so much! I'm back on Windows 10 with Avast Premier and my pc is running smooth. All is well again and I can go back to work on my senior thesis.

Same problem happened yesterday when I tried to install Avast on my Newly Purchased Laptop with Windows 10 - Its working fine on this laptop with Windows 7 since a very long time. I did a system restore to correct it Now I am scared to try to install it again on my new laptop. I downloaded the Premier Version from here "https://www.avast.com//en-in/index" - I love Avast but do not know whether to try again to install it.

I suggest that you do a Clean install of Avast. Did this new computer come with a trial of another AV ???
Most do and if yours did, how did you remove it ???
Follow the instructions in my signature to "Successfully Install Avast".
