System Freezing
« on: October 16, 2015, 01:46:02 AM »
Systems (windows 7 x64 home/pro) are popping up with this beta version (11.1.2236) installed and they are quickly and consistently becoming unresponsive. They all experience the same issues; it starts with one random application hanging in the middle of an operation, then cascades to the entire windows operating system / windows explorer UI. The mouse remains functional but all applications stop responding and ctl - alt - del no longer works. It acts like the system will not release a critical file lock or a low level process might have a have a memory leak. The only thing that changes with the systems is the update to this new versions of avast. They eventually require a hard-off to regain control of the computer. Once the Avast has been disable the issue never returns. I have been recommending Avast for years. If I find out that this app is secretly foisting people into a beta program with issues like theses I will have to consider other options. - A+ Certified System Administrator and Service Repair Tech

I had the problem with B2 2016.11.1.2235 on both my laptop and desktop.

I could not tell whether it was Avast or the MS updates that were also installed.

So I uninstalled the MS updates and noticed the problem was still there.

I then uninstall B2 2016 on both systems and replace it with Avast 10.4.2233 on my laptop and installed B3 11.1.2236
on my desktop to see what happens.

I will let them both run for now to see if either of them freezes up again.
I will post back with an update later.
