When you check the box 'scan archives' (in Home Edition), does it scan all archives??

Well, it depends on what you mean by "all"...
It scans all the archives avast! supports (i.e. all the archive avast! Professional supports, for example).

Actually, the linked webpage might be slightly outdated, there are some more supported archives.

O.K
This means that On-Demand Scan in Home (by choosing what object to scan) is exactly the same as in Pro?
And regarding the same issue,
Resident is in Home is different from Pro by not having the option to scan extra packers (Only default executables)?
Wright?

Well, in the Professional version you can configure more (fine tune the option, select only some archives to be scanned, etc). In the Home version, you have either all the packers, or none. But the "Thorough Scan with archives" is the most thorough scan avast! can do, even in the Professional version.

Resident is in Home is different from Pro by not having the option to scan extra packers (Only default executables)?

There are more differences - I'd suggest to check the link Bluesman gave you.

Thanks for the effort!
That is all I needed to know,
but still avast Pro is a little more tempting, so probably I will go down 40 bucks this year 
Sorry for annoyance, I hope this would just make a good product even better!
See you soon  ;)
