Google has added a new feature to its Gmail service: virus scanning. The
company will now check all incoming and outgoing e-mail attachments to
keep users' inboxes safe. By scanning outbound attachments, Google can
also keep viruses from proliferating by way of Gmail.

I bet it's gonna be ClamAV open-source antivirus engine, but not sure of course... just guessing...

I wasn't able to find that part out even though I did quite a bit of searching.  ??? ???

Me too, before asking... no success.
I'm sure it won't be Microsoft One Care  ;D
But it's a bit strange they don't tell which engine they're using.
I hope they're not just 'blocking' the attachment files by the extension... this is ridiculous and Google guys won't do such stupidity I hope.
