remove scan when you start machine
« on: December 05, 2005, 11:33:54 PM »
hello,
I am fascinated with this software, but when i restart my machine there is a scanning process and i have to press "ESC" key to remove it.

¿Is there any option in this software to remove this scan forever?

Thanks

Hi and welcome,
The "boot scan" you refer to is something that only runs once as part of the installation.
It will not always run every time you start up , it is thereafter only available when you choose to enable it so does not need to be  disabled or removed.
It should need to be used only when you have an infection that cannot be removed under normal scan.
good luck

Generally when you schedule a boot time scanning for the second time, it will ask you if you want to disable the first one.
It's not a permanent option so you must have a trouble... It shouldn't be at all boot time, but just one.

Can you schedule a boot-time scanning twice and see if you receive this message to disable it?

Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning

In XP, if you press F8 when starting Windows and select 'Last known good configuration' from the boot menu, the boot scan should not be started.
