self typing on the first editable screen control
« on: November 14, 2015, 01:32:40 AM »
Hello,

The laptop of my brother in law seems to be infected by a virus which start filling up the first editable control of every application he runs. It happens on the Notepad screen, on the address bar of any browser and so on.

I have suggested him to disconnect the external keyboard to check if it is a hardware fault.

The character which is "typed" is always the same : "9".

Is there a virus which has this behaviour ?

Thank you very much.

It sounds more like a hardware problem, but let's check.
Have him follow the instructions in the sticky at the top of this forum.

Thank you very much for answering me.

The problem with all forums search engines is to guess which are the correct words to search for, especially for people like me that English is not my mother language, and besides I am not familiar with the virus jargon.

I hope some search engine expert develop a dedicated system to help us to find the answers before having to ask the questions again. The way the search is being made do not return any result very often.

Best regards.

Thank you very much for your interest.

Your first reply solved the problem.

He was using a wireless keyboard and when he disconnected it the problem disappeared.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Jayme Jeffman.
