Renewing
« on: November 19, 2015, 06:31:50 PM »
My Avast Pro has expired and I want to renew but in order to do that I have to agree to auto renew for the future. I won't do this. Stop insisting on it and I will renew, is there a work around

If your license is expired you can't renew it.
You will need to get a new license.

When buying a new license you have the option to enable/disable the auto-renewal before finishing the purchase.

You can also disable/enable the auto-renewal after buying the license.

It is checked, but there is also a more information link (or wording to that effect) in the renewal/purchase process. This opens up the auto renewal and here you can switch it off.

You can also change the auto renewal payment after the purchase.
Auto Renew - Disabling Automatic Renewal service for Avast products https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB126#artTitle.

Personally I'm no fan of auto payment renewal.

Not checked by default

Must be a recent change as it was before and caused no end of complaints.

Previously there was only the More Information as I mentioned and to access the pre-checked Auto Payment renewal you had to go to a second screen.

But if they have changed it, then it is a welcome change.
