Installed Avast - Computer crashed
« on: November 23, 2015, 03:02:19 AM »
I was setting up a new HP All-In-One (model 23-q114)computer that is running Windows 10.  After initial computer setup I installed Google Chrome and then downloaded and installed Avast Free. I    immediately chose the option to update to Pro.  After the update was paid and activated it said I needed to restart my computer - to which I clicked ok.  Computer starts but gives message that it didn't start correctly and shows a screen that it is diagnosing the problem. Then it takes me back to a screen that said I can try restarting (which does the same thing again) or advanced Options which all take me back to restart, diagnose, rinse, repeat.  I cannot f8 to get to a Safe Mode start up.  Anyone have any ideas?

OK, I figured out how to restore the computer to it's default settings , which I am currently doing.  So now my question is:  Can I install Avast on this Windows 10 computer? Or, will Windows 10 again be unable to boot?

There is only one way to find out. Try it.
