Updating AEA
« on: December 15, 2015, 09:17:13 PM »
Currently we are running an older version of AEA (8.0.355).  What is the process like for updating to the latest version?  Can I just download and run the installer and it will handle everything, or does it require more work?  I've found guides on how to install it fresh, but nothing on updating...

Unfortunately, they have been having some sort of problem with their update server(s) and the update is not working right now. (at the time of this post)
But when it's back up here are some directions:

It's a self-upgrade tool.

(assuming you are on Win7+ or Server 2008+)
Open Control Panel
Click Uninstall a Program
Select Avast Enterprise Administration
Click  Uninstall/Change
Select Update
Then click on Check for updates

Move on through the prompts from there.

You can update your AEA server/console running the last version of the setup file over the current version.

When you run the last setup file for AEA, the process detects that you have AEA installed on your system and it give you the possibility for the upgrade.

Be aware to make a backup from the database before run the upgrade process.
