Premium Upgrade
« on: December 20, 2015, 05:08:21 PM »
Well I paid $14.00 to Avast to upgrade to Premium security for my Android device. I have tried and tried and tired to get it to work (my phone has not been lost or stolen, just trying to test it out) configuring everything the correct way and I get NOTHING!!! I'm glad it was only a $14.00 lesson and not my actual device like I've read in other posts. Please do not waste your money on this worthless software. I will definitely be going back to my old anti-theft software LOOKOUT! It's twice the price but at least I know it works!

I have a Moto Droid Turbo 2
Android 5.1.1
Not Rooted
AMS version 4.0.8139

I'm guessing that is the latest.

So when I go into avast.com and log into my account I can see my devices under devices. When I try to give it a command like take a pic or location it says unable to communicate with device. I ahve all GPS and location configurations on. I'm somewhat tech savvy with Android devices as I use to root and flash a lot. Anyway, can't figure out for the life of me what is going on. I've only gotten the Location to work once.

AMS 5 is upcoming shortly and avast is moving to a other building.
I don't know if these things have something to do with it, but it would not surprise me.
I've seen some other reports where things where not working and a day later there was no problem.

Well I have just rebooted my device for the third time in 2 days of having this Premium Upgrade. Now I am getting some of the commands to work like take a picture and locate. Maybe the two most important things..lol

Anyway, I hope it just works from here on out.

Better little progress than no progress ;)

There is a beta version of AMS 5 that you may want to try, but the word is a final will be released later this month.
If it is true, I don't know.
Guess it depends on how fast that old man flies in his sledge  ;D

Track'm not getting my phone, I have it on hand when I ask the trace of it in the AVAST site shows an address that I've never been, I'm being taught the horrible this program. I will disclose to all on the work of avast, Worst app aimed only at profit.
