Avast Blocking Google sites?
« on: December 29, 2015, 06:53:00 PM »
Avast has seemed to start blocking google websites recently.  If I try to access any google site in Chrome I get this:
Unable to access the network

ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED
Hide details
Google Chrome is having trouble accessing the network.

This may be because your firewall or antivirus software wrongly thinks Google Chrome is an intruder on your computer and is blocking it from connecting to the Internet.
Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.

IE just tells me the page can't be displayed.

Just noticed this a few days ago and tried updating to the new 2016 version hoping it would help but didn't.

Windows 7 x64
Avast Free 11.1.2245
Def 151229-1

Any ideas?

Any problems opening other secured (https) websites ?
Already performed a repair of avast ?
Already performed a clean installation of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
Are the sites opening in a other browser ?
