problem with avast premier
« on: December 30, 2015, 06:52:18 PM »
Hello,

I updated my avast to avast premier , and it keeps popping notification that my computer is at risk because firewall is turned off and that my computer need to restart, and i tried to solve the problem but it still exists.
I tried to uninstall it but it won't be uninstalled and cause me even more problem. when i downloaded avast free and logged my license file it upgraded automatically to avast premier.

Can anyone help ?

Perform a clean installation of avast and check if the problem is solved.

- Make sure that any previous installed av is removed > https://www.ache.nl (links to tools/instructions)
- Remove avast through control panel
- Run avast clear
- Install the latest version of avast

I did earlier and downloaded Avast Free, things went OK until I sign in and then it automatically updated to the premier and happens again.

I don't need the premier but i need to sing in, so how can i stop the free avast from updating the program to the primer if it's causing my computer problems, as it keeps showing notification that avast need to restart and when i restart it happens again !!!

The free version doesn't upgrade to premier unless you tell it to do so.
e.g. by inserting a activation code or using a license file for premier.

yes , it does . Because when I updated my avast - like always- it was updated to avast premier.

right now I had to download avast free, which will expire in 30 days, though i already prayed for it :(
, to get rid of the problem.

Hi Wafa',

Do you have Windows 10? If so, how many times have you reboot the PC after upgrading to Premier? Sometimes it takes a few reboots to complete the installation of the Firewall.

If you're not using W10 or after 2-3 reboots you get no results, what's the status of the Windows service "Base Filtering Engine"?
You can check it going to the Start menu, writing "services.msc" and pressing Enter.
The Service status should be Started and the Startup Type should be Automatic.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that.

Yes I did and it's running and automatic, exactly as the picture you posted.

It may be time to do a Clean Install of Avast:

Eddy, the link you posted does not work (broken link), this link does work for what you intended presumably: http://ache.nl/

Eddy,
I did everything you said. and the problem still exists.

Now I figured that the only way I can solve the problem is by disabling firewall from "Status Monitoring" , since windows firewall is on,
and here is another thing, whenever i restart my computer the firewall in Status monitoring is on again !!!

I am so tired of Avast honestly.
