Firewall can't be started - Avast Premier

I keep getting a notice that my system is at risk because the firewall is turned off. When I tell it to start the firewall Avast says it cannot start the firewall.

The Windows firewall is turned on.

The Avast firewall was working fine, until last week.

Could you try a 'Repair' of your Avast installation.

For a Repair go to Control Panel/ Programs&Features/ Avast and click Uninstall/Change.

The Avast installation options screen will appear, scroll up/down and choose "REPAIR".

Be sure to reboot after the process is complete
