hi all,
been nice using avast anti virus until lately. 2 things lead to leaving avast , it probably is of no concern to avast , after all whats a few thousand leaving when they have a large customer base, however, if they didnt do the things they are doing then they would have a few thousand more and perhaps the revenue that comes with it.
avast does not supply a "contact us mail addy", thankfully according to recent eu directives, this will become illegal for a site to NOT show a valid email address on their website. this is only being done due to the number of complaints that it is impossible to contact avast, so of course when your product becomes faulty, there is nowhere to turn and no contact can be made, tantamount to taking money under false pretences (scamming etc. imagine you buy the product then i goes wrong and you cannot contact the seller, well here is a prime site that does just that.
2nd reason to leave is the interminable popups concerning a secure vpn, now why would i want a popup for a vpn when i am never gonna need or use a vpn, however up it pops 4 times an hour minimum, as we all know the bane of most users lives is popup advertising, could be called how to shoot yourself in the foot
there are loads of antivius progs out there and if avast are quite willing to make you go to another of them then its down to avast , no contact us and popups by the hundred.
nice being here, cant wait for the eu directive to become law,
you must really ask yourself why would a site such as avast refuse to put an email addy on therir own site, begs the question of what are they hiding or running from.
as most worthy pc mags tell you , if a site refuses to supply a contact us addy then do not use them as its most prob going to be a scam
