Where is the resident File Scanner
« on: December 20, 2005, 12:13:18 PM »
Hello,

I just installed the home version of avast, but I do not see the resident file scanner of it. When doubleclicking the avast icon, I only see the network shield and web shield.
I also cannot add it when using Add/Remove Software to modify avast modules.

Currently I did not receive my license key. Is it possible that the resident file scanner is only visible when avast has a license key?

No, the available providers are independent of the license key (well, with the exception of Script Blocker). Maybe you didn't install the providers at all?
You can check in Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs / avast! Antivirus / Change - there's the list of installed modules there.

Sorry,

my fault. The Provider was there, but I associated it with "THE BAT".
I just overlooked the standard provider.

All fine now!
