Is Format Factory safe to use?
« on: January 13, 2016, 01:54:55 PM »
So after formatting my computer , I was reinstalling random things and programs I used to use.
While trying to download Format Factory, after I pressed "Download", my Firefox said that I shouldn't visit this site.
Because I used to use this program for many years, I simply ignored the message and download it anyway.
Anyway, now I'm here trying to confirm that the program is safe to use.

Was trying to download from this site: http://www.pcfreetime.com/
Direct link to the download I used(the link that my firefox blocked): http://www.pcfreetime.com/download/FFSetup3.8.0.0.exe
VirusTotal link for the file: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/b7d5f8ea76372437ad1c846e8c31d87556bdc10336360146da235fd8b829941a/analysis/

Is the program actually safe to use? my avast said nothing about it when I installed it, and I kinda go worried.

We last tested the this file on Sep 11, 2015 with 31 different anti-virus and anti-malware programs and services. Out of these tests, the FormatFactory download tested clean 94% of the time.
The VT scan shows very clear that a lot more scanners detect things.

we would to point out that FormatFactory was tested with avast Antivirus 8
avast 8? In what year do those people live ?  ???

Do you have pup detection enabled ?
If not, I suggest you enable it.

Running default settings, didn't disable/enable anything.
(Is it enabled or disabled be default?)

I'm using Firefox too, nothing installed on it when I installed the program.
