Avast will not start
« on: December 25, 2005, 06:42:04 PM »
On reboot I keep getting a message.. Avert has modified without authorization. This has refured to ashAvert.exe. AshDisp.exe. AshSimpl.exe.

It seem soming keeps deleting or modifing the programs.

Explorer is also running from 80-99 %.

Other virus scan are not helping or detecting virus's.

Please help.

ashAvert.exe doen't ring any bells for me are you sure it isn't ashAvast.exe?

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
If that doesn't work try, uninstall, reboot, install, reboot.
It would probably be best to download the latest version of avast and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again. Use that when you reinstall.

Other virus scan are not helping or detecting virus's.
Which other?
Are you using more than one antivirus at the time?
