Cannot get a program to start
« on: February 13, 2016, 04:08:53 AM »
I tried opening League of Legends and Avast told me it was malware.  I clicked out of the screen, not thinking, and now I cannot get League to open at all.  I tried adding an exception for the Riot Games folder and turning off Avast, but I still cannot get the program to open.  Is there something I am missing?

i understand your pain.....i don't know why avast is doing this. it feels like avast is a virus. though i cannot help, i can say i am experiencing the same issue. i hope that the programmers/staff for avast can read our complaints & questions and look into the issues we are experiencing.

Restore it from the virus chest or install the application again.

It is not the end of the world if you can't play a game.
It will give you time to learn how to use avast, what the settings mean etc. ;)

Gee thanks Eddy! You do realize that it's the point not the specific that is the problem here right? AND you don't know me! You have no idea how important anything is. I am a game tester and reviewer. I am on a deadline. Your beloved AVAST has just screwed me and when I report this to the LOL gaming world, I would like to be able to report that they were responsive and helpful in fixing the problem and that their community was not full of arrogant know it all's. Oh well ... you've just lost them that opportunity. Thanks

As you are probably aware, one person isn't a community.

Reported BUT how do we reactivate a file that has been so marked???

It depends on what action avast took - if the suspect file was sent to the avast chest, open the virus chest (right click the avast tray icon) select Virus Chest. Right click on the file in the virus chest and select Restore and add to exclusions.
