Just because you haven't used avast in a while doesn't mean you are entitled to a refund.
You have bought a subscription and it doesn't matter if you use it or not.
Just like with magazines.
If you have a subscription, you will need to pay if you read them or not.

What you need to do is to disable the auto-renewal.

As I said, it is a subscription that auto-renews itself (if you have that enabled)
You can enable/disable it through the link I gave you.

You do not need to download a new license, it is a automatic process that will extend the time of the current license.
It doesn't matter if you use it or not.

The reason behind this is that people forget to renew in time and then suddenly see their av isn't working anymore leaving their system vulnerable.
With the auto-renewal enabled they don't have to worry about it (as long as there is sufficient funds to pay ofcourse).
Before the auto-renewal takes place at least two mails are send to the user that it is about to happen.
If someone doesn't it, he can disable it before it takes place.

If you have submitted a ticket, have patience.
avast is trying to handle them within 10 business days.

As far as I'm aware, the refund policy is 30 days - so if you are within the 30 days of the auto-payment-renewal, then you are entitled to a refund. But you need to submit a support ticket as Asyn said and gave a link in Reply #1.

As far as I'm aware there is no direct phone number for this - the free support telephone number is for program related issued only. This is handled by a 3rd party support company (on behalf of avast) and that doesn't have details of payment information.

Use the link in Reply #1 to submit a support ticket for a refund.

I would suggest you remove your email for a publicly available forum - your email address could be harvested - and could result in being sold to spam companies.

I need a refund of the grimefighter for avast. This keeps coming out of my account at the worst times with no email stating that you are about to do so. Thank you for your quick response to this.
