1) Switched from AVG to Avast about 2 weeks ago.
2) Been relatively happy, until the subject topic started happening a couple days after.
3) Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.10586]
4) C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg -lastwake
Wake History Count - 1
Wake History

  Wake Source Count - 1
  Wake Source

    Type: Wake Timer
    Owner: [SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvastSvc.exe (avast! Antivirus)

5) Turned of "Streaming Updates", did nothing. Turned it back on, still nothing.
6) Repair installation, nothing.
7) Uninstalled then installed again, nothing.
8) Found a post saying that i could try adjusting my Ethernet power setting in Device Manager to not "Wake Up on LAN". The problem with this is that I have scheduled to wake every other day at 3am to perform a scan, and still want that to continue.
9) My "Wake on LAN" options are Wake on Magic Packet and Wake on Pattern Match.

Will disabling these to options prevent Avast from waking up my PC for my 3 am scan?

Did you remove previous used antivirus before installing avast?

This problem sounds like the same bug.  If so, the next software update of Avast (Or latest beta) should cure the problem.

Hi Tony,

The reason why it wakes up your computer after 1 min it might be running some updates on the background and it needs to have your internet connection active when you do that. You may turn off the wake timers under the power management to disable avast on waking up your computer when there is notification or updates that might pop up. Windows 10 has hybrid sleep options so updates will not affect the settings unless your wake timers are on.
Please post any result whenever you done doing it.

Why are you running Daily Scans, Avast checks everything you do as it happens.
Once your system is clean, running daily scans is not necessary.
Your computer your choice but certainly not anything that makes you safer. :)

Thank you for the links, it does sound like the same problem. Where did you read that the "next software update of Avast (Or latest beta) should cure the problem"? The only 2 quotes from that post relating to a statement like that, were from 7 months ago, 10+ updates ago, and 2+ betas ago.

There are no updates running in the background that would wake my computer up from sleep.

Im not running daily scans.

Avast doesn't check every I do as it happens.  You need to look into the limitations of Web Shield and the File System Shield that Avast uses.

So, does Avast give refunds? Are they going to address this with an actual fix?
