Gallery detected as a PUP
« on: July 10, 2016, 03:14:50 PM »
I tried to open up my Gallery today but Avast Mobile flagged it as a potentially unwanted program. The message was "Potentially unwanted program detected - Android:FakeInst-ART [PUP]. Does this mean my gallery is infected? The only option Avast gives me is to try to uninstall the app, but it fails because I can't uninstall the gallery app. Does anyone else have this problem?

I just received this identical message on my Samsung this morning and trying to research how to resolve. Has anyone given you any advice? Deb

Hi,

thanks for reporting, this was a false positive and should already be fixed since yesterday, please try updating the virus definitions.

Best regards,
