Tomorrow the Windows 10 Anniversary update will be available...

I will leave Avast installed and hope it goes well.
I will be turning off all programs that scan files prior to doing the update.
Avast, Malwarebytes, WnPatrol, WinPatrol AntiRansome

I will also not be doing anything online during the update. :)

That's good, I've kept a backup image and hope Avast won't mess anything up.

Don't forget that such updates don't come as a "surprise ".
Software Developers like Avast spend much time in advance at the Microsoft campus in Redmond to prepare for it.

Greetz, Red.
OS: Win 10 / iOS 17 / Debian 12 / Tails 5
Real Time: Avast Premium Security
On Demand: Malwarebytes
VPN: NordVPN ( NordLynx ) with Threat Protection ( Lite )

Been running the anniversary update for an hour now, disabled avast prior to installing, no issues to report.

Running fine.

Also cleaned installed Win 10 anniversary update on another PC which worked perfect too.

Here you go Bob: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

Download the media creation tool - make sure you download a new copy since it's been updated.

Then you have the choice to upgrade the PC, create an ISO or create USB install.

Thanks, I download the Media Creation Tool version 10.0.14393.0 this morning. It's nice to get a confirmation that it's the correct one. :)

Avast is fully compatible with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Even when updating via Windows Update.

We just noticed one possible issue - Avast not registered as an antivirus in the Windows Security Center. A single reboot should resolve the issue. If not, please let us know!

Maybe a stupid question - would this download an ISO file with the anniversary update already integrated into it?

When 3rd party AV is registered, you ca enable "Periodic on-demand scan" in Windows Defender settings, allowing avast! to be your primary AV while Windows Defender scans files on-demand here and there. It's a decent addition for slightly enhanced protection without performance hit.
