Trojan?
« on: July 30, 2016, 10:25:09 PM »
Hi,

Few mins ago I have scanned my PC with malwarebytes free and it had showed me that I have a Trojan. In the Geforce expirience/Update
I have attached the log below. Is this a real virus or like a fake?

Looks like a false positive.
Upload the file to VirusTotal and see what it says.

I got the same problem here, MBAM told me it's the same trojan, but the file is on a different folder, but the filename is the same.

Here, the file "7z.exe" is found here "C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\368.81\Win10_64\International\GFExperience" (folder used to extract the driver installer).
If you upload to Virustotal, it comes clean, except for MBAM.
Here is the link: https://www.virustotal.com/pt/file/6ef3dd36d1bc0e8dd921bc589b284a1721c9e0c93b8e69f2332bb53968332a1e/analysis/1469913897/

If you still have the file, upload it here: https://www.virustotal.com/pt/
And give us the link of the results.

when uploading file to virustotal you should not zip it, the extra info shown will then be for the zip and not the file inside

You can report FP to Malwarebytes here > https://forums.malwarebytes.org/forum/42-file-detections/

I updated it here and scanned it: no malware detected.

If you want to check a file at virustotal.com you upload the file that is detected
the txt from malwarebytes is just a scan log and not the detected file

most likely it will still show as detected at VT as i think they only update signatures once or twice a day

Run a manuall update of your Malwarebytes program, then restore the file from quarantine
You can then scan it again and see if still detected

By manually updating it do u mean by pressing the update button on the program on the first page? I have restored the file and now I am doing a threat scan with MBAM free

How do I upload the detected file? Im sorry I dont know a lot about viruses.

alternative to Virustotal > www.metadefender.com  /  www.jotti.org

There are no files in the malware exclusions. Also I have restored the file and I scanned again and it had showed me that there is nothing wrong, does that mean that it is all fine?
