Avast turned off and won't sign in
« on: September 19, 2016, 05:30:11 PM »
Hi guys,

I just went to my fathers computer and noticed that avast (free version) was switched off.

I tried to turn it back on again but it wont turn on. I also noticed in the update box it says can't establish a connection.

Which program do I use to completely remove Avast and then where is the offline installer?

Its version 2276, on a win10 64bit laptop.

Thanks guys

Perform a update.
The problem you are describing has been solved.

That works! :)

Now I have another slight problem.

For some reason I cannot sign in to the account. I type in the email address and password and it says username or password are incorrect.

So I say I want to password reset, so it gives me a link to reset the password at the avast website. I reset it and it logs me in to the site. Then I sign out, and if I try to log back in with either the avast program or the website it says username or password is incorrect. I've reset the password twice and its done the same thing each time.

It keeps saying username, but what is the username? where does it say that in the profile information? I've been entering the email address as thats what it asks for with the @ sign.

That is also a bug and has been explained in another thread.

It looks to be some fault with the website too as I can't even relog in to that.

It can take 48 hours before the password change is working.
