Shut Off Outdated Virus Definitions Notification

I shut off the automatic updates and notifications. My reasons are my own.

BUT, Avast still automatically checks for new virus definition updates and then pops up a notification about outdated definitions.

How can I shut these two features off entirely?

avast doesn't just check online to see if there are VPS updates, it also checks the date of the installed definitions and if they haven't been updated for a while it will notify that they are out of date.
