avast update always failed
« on: February 12, 2006, 07:26:48 AM »
Hi guys,

I got problem with avast update. I am using Avast 4.6 Home Edition. My system spec is:

OS : Win 2k Professional Edition
Memory : 256MB
CPU : 1.8GHz Pentium 4
Hdd : 40GB

My problem is I always received error from Avast telling me that it can't download the update from Avast. I found out that I need to stop a process name "avast.setup" first and then I can have the automatic update. But the process can't be terminated normally. I have to use killbox program to stop the process. Anyone can tell me the solution?

This is what does the avast updates, so kill that, kill the update.

You need to allow avast.setup access in your firewall (which is ?).
