It is not about getting the (correct) drivers, it is about Windows not letting them install (properly).
That is one of the many known problems in Windows 10 that Microsoft has to solve.

Eddy, do you have one of these routers ? Do you know this for a fact?

Same question applies. Are you using it? if not, what makes you say it's not going to work with windows 10 ?
I have a few old desktops at the senior center that use a usb wifi adapter and have no problems. The are running Windows 10.

I was obviously on the wrong track, thought it was the systems internal Wi-Fi card was the issue :-[ usb Wi-Fi dongle makes more sense :P

Would it be possible to return the USB adaptor to the telco and ask them to provide a wireless 4G dongle like this https://www.telstra.com.au/small-business/broadband/mobile-broadband-devices#tab-wifi-4g-advanced-3
Then at least there is no need to install drivers and software for it to work, completely wireless, and works perfectly with Win10 :)

this is what im currently using
https://www.amazon.co.uk/NETGEAR-A6210-100PES-AC1200-802-11ac-Adapter/dp/B00OT586RQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479744889&sr=8-1&keywords=a6210
not a mobile broadband device, its just a wireless wifi adapter that connects to my router.
it was the best one i have ever had till this issue.

it was, considering i cant use it now without getting alot of lag in my games, its like i lose all responce but my ping stays normal and i can still see every thing else going on arround me. Moving back to my power socket ethernet i dont get that anymore just lose connection sometimes till i turn the plug off and on (dont know if this is an issue with the power ethernet itself or my electrical grid)

is there anyway at all to prevent windows 10 from auto installing its own drivers? i cant afford to buy a new decent wireless adaptor just for that to have the same issue.

Not possible.
MS needs to solve this (and all other) problem(s).
But the way it goes now, I would say it will take to the Windows 15 release before they have. >:(

Ive been looking arround and am unable to find a Wifi adapter which has working windows 10 drivers.

I hate to be a bother again but does anyone know of a wifi adapter that will work with windows 10?
