I wish I could not only stop this update but completely remove the existing Edge browser.
Hi Dave, agreed - but I doubt the guys in Redmond are planning to offer this option. ;)

Not much sense in posting links that result in the following,

No problem here with the link.
What's your objection to the Browser?

I downloaded the new Edge yesterday, I really like it, faster than both Chrome and Firefox on my computer.

My take on the new edge, is just another chromium based browser and I think you know my feelings on Google Chrome.

For testing purposes, no. It does offer quite a few features not easily accessible elsewhere.

I think that caution is warranted on who uses it and users backup before making any changes so a recovery can be effected.

That caution is something that should apply to any program that can make major changes to your operating system.
This would be one of those programs that require a way back if something goes wrong.
I have Rollback RX and if that doesn't work, there's the image backup. Follow the scout motto and always be prepared.

I'm aware that you have a robust backup and recovery strategy in place, as you know I also apply.  My words of caution are for others that don't have such a strategy in place, who may read the topic and post.
