timeout elapsed

Have been using Avast home 4 for quite a while and in the last few days i keep getting this message box pop up. 

avast: Connection Timeout
Internet connection timeout elapsed. Continue waiting?
[->ip141-58-173-82dyndsl.versatel.nt:110]

I keep pressing no for continue waiting but still it can keep coming up within 2 minutes again. 
My computer freezes if i ignore this message and whatever i do i cant get rid of it.  I have uninstalled avast and downloaded it again but it still comes up.  I am wondering if it is really removed from my hard drivebefore i re install it again.
Avast appears to be working but this message is affecting my computer use.  It is slowing down my hard drive.

Please help if you can.

A screenshot of the error message would have been more complete.  You missed out tell us the part that came before the "->" in the timeout message.

However from the look of the rest of it I have to ask if you are using azureus, bittorrent, utorrent or some other peer to peer client?
