Why there is no Link Scanner Site Safety rating like that we have in AVAST? Also Beta version available at AVG portal is different. There AVG implemented File Protection in order to prevent unauthorized encryption of files by Ransomwares. But this feature is also not mentioned for this release here. Can anyone here throw some light on this issue?

There is the beta version of old version 2016 on the AVG Beta portal. The File protection will be introduced also in the new AVG 17, but not in the initial release in January.

Hi Gents :)

I assume that webshield is operational under the online shield component

The components and settings look to be a steal from Avast so that makes it simpler to find the way around

Hello!
All new is well forgotten old.
Picture with this Shrek is not impressive. I think that not only one me she didn't like. It would be very good if it changed to something else.

Very interesting, the changes and look of the AVG Beta. I hope the new release of Avast will have a similar (or better) GUI in quality of design.

I know that the really important thing in Avast is the "inside", but I think it must look good and professional also in the "outside".

As it has always been.

Best regards!

I would like to ask someone that uses the AVG beta on a Windows 10 machine to check if there is other file than WdBoot.sys listed in the C:\Windows\ELAMBKUP folder.  :)

Hmm, that's not good. This is where a backup copy of the early launch antimalware driver should be stored. I really didn't expected such a move from Avast. The stable version of AVG has a driver names avgboota.sys. This driver has a boot priority of 0 and is initialized by the boot loader when the kernel loads. It is the first third-party driver that loads after the essential boot drivers and its task is to check every single other driver against a blacklist. Avast should know how big an advantage they are removing from the AV. Instead of porting a ready made implementation. Also this driver is needed for a thing called protected service which basically protects the AV service from unwanted termination.

Someone from the Avast team please clarify what are you doing?  :o
