AVAST 4.6 HOME MESSAGE QUERY
« on: February 18, 2006, 05:05:13 PM »
I am suddenly getting onscreen message popup which is headed 'Avast Connection Timeout -  internet connection elapsed'  and have to make continue or not choice.   Not seen this before and would appreciate knowing why this is happening now.

Please post the full text information/details of the timeout message or post a screenshot of the warning message.

What is your OS ?
What where you doing when this happened ?
What is your firewall ?
Do you have a P2P program, if so what is it ?

What help index ?

The reason we ask questions is to be able to determine exactly why a timeout occurs, some malware can cause timeouts as can some p2p programs that have been incorrectly set-up to use email ports to communicate.

Simply extending a timeout duration (which I believe is what you have done) doesn't identify why it happened in the first place, treat the cause and not the symptom.
