And that's mostly because of idiotic way how Comodo's "Default Deny" operates. They just sandbox unknown stuff without asking user, breaking anything that was trying to update or install, potentially complicating everything even further because it'll only partially install even if user knows it's safe and would most likely allow it and all would be well.
They don't mess up with Avast because they have it excluded. AVG is another story (that means it was no fun with both of them :-[ ). I have both of them and i am not experiencing this issue yet.

No difference. They are both safe programs and should have been excluded.
Comodo has it's own rules.  :(

The same situation here. I spent 3 tough hours by investigating why almost any of my programs can't be executed after Windows start. I was soooo close to start reinstalling my Windows 10 completely. Then I found this thread. After uninstalling Avast in Safe Mode (it was not possible in normal operation) everything went all right and all programs were running properly. So I downloaded last version of Avast Antivirus and installed it back. It crashed at the and of installation leaving Avast Service running but UI could not be executed again as well as any other program. So I went to Safe Mode again, got rid of Avast and everything is fine right now.

So dear guys in Avast!!! Please do anything to fix it up ASAP!!! I can't use the VPN as well, while I'm paying for it!

Rejzor, if you look at Settings > Update > Program Version

You will see Program Version followed by the build. The build changes are minimal.

That's the build number not version, which is still 17.1.2286.

Good evening Rejzor, I do not remember if you remember me, but yesterday you told me that he would make an update today and I wanted to know if his had been done?

Sorry if I don't remember you specifically, I'm terrible with remembering people unless they have a memorable avatar :P

Yes, the update was released, just not through a regular "big" update channel.

For example, Game Mode now adds games as separate entries and there is also new setting for Game Mode which prevents automatic adding of games/apps to the list. One of things I personally was waiting for a long time. They just have to fix the name of the setting because it's a bit terrible at the moment...

- Game mode - helps reduce distractions and lag times by automatically prioritizing your game’s performance and suspending all unnecessary background notifications and processes while you play

Game mode detected Windows 10 sticky notes as "game". I turned game mode off. Also my games work perfectly and I don't want third parties messing with system process priorities etc..
UI seems to be slower, takes more time to appear and does not feel as responsive as Avast 2016.

O the plus side:
Wi-fi scanner interface is cool :) though it's name a bit confusing since my PC is desktop and has no wifi :)
Websites load faster and Windows boot faster.

Edit: captcha here is a real challenge  ;D

You're challenge with captcha is over, it is an anti-spam (bot) measure for the first three posts.

I've just updated my PC with last release of Avast but, after reboot, I've received the following message: "UI failed to load" so my PC is not protected. What about?
Windows Vista Home premium

Go to Add Remove Programs/Programs and Features -> avast! Antivirus -> Change -> Repair

Tell me if that helps.
