I have updated Free version of Avast to 17.1.2286 (build 17.1.3394.42) on my Windows 10 Pro 64-bit desktop.

Problem with Avast Online Security Settings in Firefox 51.0.1 (32-bit):
Automatic blocking of trackers is not enabled by default. I set this to enabled and it remains set if I close the browser and reopen later, which is fine.
However I regularly use ccleaner v5.27.5976 (in default mode) to remove cookies, history etc. After using the cleaner Automatic blocking of trackers reverts to disabled. This annoying and never occurred with previous versions of Avast Free.

Can you help resolve this quirk please. Thanks.

Thanks for your quick reply.

My ccleaner utility has a 'Cookies to Keep' facility and after a bit of trial and error I discovered the relevant cookie to keep:

The following cookies (which seemed relevant) were present on the PC:
avast.com
id.avast.com
ui.ff.avast.com
uib.ff.avast.com

However none of these stores the IOS settings.
By a process of elimination I found the one that stores the settings; it has an unintelligible 64 character id:

1586db1a-2556-4ab2-b99b....................

Thanks again for your post.

After 3 years of Avast causing long boot times, This build exactly fixed it I now have my 15sec or less boot times as apposed to the 45+ seconds i had on SSD, and all my other systems that suffered from this long boot time have been fixed too.

I just hope the next build dont cause it again. seeing I waited 3 years for fix and had multiple tickets open about it, cause it happen on every system I ever put  avast on even when I asked around other on forums they said they were having same issue boot times and that was with fresh installs of win7 threw 10. moment avast was installed was moment all systems start booting slow.

I will make stink about this if next build some how causes it again

I can't import my previous settings of avast premier 2017 after being repair via control panel
the import popup showed absolutely nothing. I just blindly clicked ok, mot sure if anything was restored

This seems to have been fixed recently. It's working fine now.

I just updated the program but no new version. I tried to import again and it was still blank. It was working for me a few days ago but now it's not, perhaps due to a Repair via control panel broke it. I need another repair anyway

I solved the problem running an old restore configuration setting i found in my external hd.
Now also new version backup/restore works.

A new update has been released today (build 17.1.3394.42)

I would like to ask the Avast Team: Is it possible to let us know what are the changes in every new build? In the surface, I can't find any. Thanks!

I've had nothing but trouble since updating overnight. Horrid lag, not being able to open games, pages, AOL, your own program. But the worst is that now videos do not play properly. The sound is fine, but the picture is either a grey cottonball haze or a tiny slice of pixels.  Videos play properly in every other browser I have (AOL's, Firefox and Chrome.) I've run multiple scans/diagnostics and it's still not right. I'll either be rolling back to a point prior to this update or removing Avast completely.

So, now I had to deinstall (using avastclear in safe mode) the new version in the end as it rendered AutoCAD Mechanical 2010 (64bit, Win 7 Pro x64) unable/not responding when opening or saving files via gui dialogue (which means there was something about messing with the windows explorer). Without Avast it all works again.

Hi, disable the behavior shield or set an exclusion.

I forgot to mention that I disabled it right two days ago when I read some stuff here about it being problematic and then I deinstalled this component completely to get rid of the annoying warning symbol when it was only disabled. Oh and I also tried around with the cyber something stuff (and I already had to disable the hardware virtualisation thing else BSOD).
Ah, and I disabled the game mode, too (and then also deinstalled this component).

Did you get the ".42" updated build through the auto-update?  I'm not seeing it.
