There isn't much information to work on. The release time might well be different for you and I as we don't have a time zone to work with.

Where did you see this ?

Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.5.6116 (build 24.5.9153.762) UI 1.0.808/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

As you can clearly see, it was a VPS update.
Not a update to the application.

I heard same channel can be used to solve little bugs, if i'm not wrong.
Once i did click update, it looks like download more then definitions.

VPS Update can do more than just update virus definitions as you can see from my attached image, it does an 'Engines and Virus Definitions.' So it can update the scanning engines, without having to do a 'full program update.'

The only problem is it doesn't say that in the UI, it just says Virus Definitions.

Depending on your settings it only checks for VPS every 4 hours (default), but if you do a manual update check, and a VPS update is available you would get it then, not on the next scheduled 4hr check.
